Four police cars descend on Stoke-on-Trent street as man in hospital
Police and paramedics were scrambled to a Stoke-on-Trent street. Eye-witnesses reported four police cars and an ambulance on Birches Head Road, in Birches Head[1], at the height of the emergency response. The alarm was raised at around 8pm on Friday, December 15.
A Staffordshire Police[2] spokesman said: "We went to Birches Head Road following reports of safety concerns for a man. West Midlands Ambulance Service[3] also attended. A man, in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment." Paramedics had received an earlier 999 call to the scene.
An ambulance service spokesman said: "One ambulance attended the scene.
Upon arrival we found a man who was assessed by ambulance staff at the scene and was conveyed to the Royal Stoke University Hospital[4] for further assessment."
