Friends and family will say goodbye Waltham officer killed at road work site

(WJAR) -- Friday and friends will say goodbye on Friday to a Waltham police officer killed at a road work site. Funeral services for police officer Paul Tracey will be held at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish in Waltham. Tracey and utility worker Roderick Jackson were both killed when a man allegedly crashed into them.

That man was identified as 54-year-old Peter Simon of New Hampshire. Police say Simon pulled a knife on another officer before stealing his cruiser and crashing. Family, friends, and police officers filled the courtroom where Simon was arraigned for manslaughter and other charges.

Services for Tracey are scheduled for 11:00 a.m.

A funeral for Jackson will be held on Saturday.
