Glasgow city centre assault leaves man seriously injured after being punched by stranger
A man has been left with a serious facial injury after being punched by a stranger in Glasgow city centre[1]. The 28-year-old man was walking along Gordon Street near to its junction with Union Street around 11pm on Saturday, December 2, when a man who was unknown to him punched him[2] to the side of the face. The victim kept walking and made his way home before going at Hairmyres Hospital several days later where he received treatment to a serious facial injury.
The incident was reported to police[5] and investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the attack. Detective Constable John McMahon from Greater Glasgow CID said: “This appears to have been a completely random and unprovoked assault on the victim who has been left with a serious facial injury. “The suspect was in the company of another man at the time of the attack and we are appealing to anyone who was in Glasgow City Centre around 11pm on Saturday, 2 December, and witnessed what happened to please come forward.
