Glasgow pedestrian hit by car in Partick area as emergency services rush to scene
A pedestrian was rushed to hospital after being struck by a car in the west end[1] of Glasgow. The 60-year-old man was hit by the vehicle at around 5.15pm yesterday (December 7) on Dumbarton Road in the Partick[2] area of the city. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital[3] for treatment.
The extent of the man’s injuries is currently unknown. A stretch of Dumbarton Road was closed between Hyndland Street and Benalder Street for a period of time following the crash but has since reopened.
A Police Scotland[6] spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a collision involving a car and a 60-year-old male pedestrian around 5.15pm on Thursday, 7 December on Dumbarton Road, Glasgow.
“The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
