Godmanchester: Photos show damage to bridge after crash

The images show cracks in the bricks, and some look like they have broken away from others. The damage comes after a person had to be cut free from their car after a crash with another car. Cambridgeshire Police were called to The Avenue in Godmanchester at 3:42pm with reports of a collision between two cars which left the bridge completely blocked. A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “Officers attended together with paramedics and firefighters and one person had to be cut free from their car. RECOMMENDED READING: “One person was taken to hospital but there were not believed to be any serious injuries.” The bridge has been closed this morning for the structural damage to be assessed.
