Heart-stopping moment car flips and misses mum pushing baby in pram by inches
This is the heart-stopping moment one desperate mum managed to save her two-year-old daughter[1] just before her pram was crushed under a car. The shocking incident[2], which happened in Solihull, West Midland, was caught on CCTV. Shop workers rushed to help the mother and toddler who narrowly escaped death.
The dramatic footage shows them barely avoiding being hit by the car after it crashed into a lamppost and flipped onto the pavement. The mum can be seen walking away from the crash[3] site with her daughter in her arms. The terrifying accident occurred near a zebra crossing at around 4pm on Saturday.
Staff from nearby businesses who helped the mother and daughter revealed that the pram got stuck under the car, but the little girl miraculously escaped. They also said that the female driver was thrown out of the boot of the car due to the impact, but her injuries were not life-threatening. An employee from a local shop, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "One of our employees from the business helped the driver, her face was bleeding.
She was confused and she had to come out of the boot. The pram ended up under the vehicle. We've never seen anything like this happen on the road.
We were in the back, we didn't even see it. A customer came in and said 'did you see what happened?"' Did you see what happened or know who was involved?

The girl injured her leg and the mum was traumatised as you can imagine. She must have acted on her mother's instinct.
How the pram ended up under the vehicle without the child in it when she was pushing her along in it, is a miracle really. They were just a split second from it being a lot worse. The driver is very lucky as well," they continued.
"We were told it was a disability transport vehicle. The driver was very shaken up too - it could have easily been fatal." the worker added. A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 4.11pm on Saturday to a road traffic collision involving a car and two pedestrians on Warwick Road, Solihull.
Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. Upon arrival, we found a woman and child who were pedestrians and a woman who was the driver of the car. The driver of the car and the child were assessed and had non-life-threatening injuries.
