Hull man charged with child rape offences and sexual assault

A man from Hull has been charged with three counts of child rape, Humberside Police[1] have said. Ryan Edgar, 28, of Park Street, is accused of two counts of rape of a child of 16 or over, one count of rape of a child of 13 or over and one count of sexual assault of a child of 13 or over. Police began an investigation after officers received reports of a rape in Hull on Wednesday at around 4.20pm.

Mr Edgar has been remanded into custody and was due to appear before magistrates in Hull this morning. In a statement today, the force said: “A man has been charged after we received reports at around 4.20pm of a rape in Hull on Wednesday December 20. Ryan Edgar, aged 28, of Park Street has been charged with two counts of rape of a child 16 or over, one count of sexual assault of a child 13 or over and one count of rape of a child 13 or over.

“He has been remanded in our custody and is due to appear at Hull Magistrates Court[2] this morning (Friday). If anyone has any concerns, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 23*179714.”
