With a mile-long one-way loop passing a multitude of millionaire's beachfront houses, the two-lane road running around the Sandbanks peninsula has become the perfect urban racetrack for boy racers.

After a 17-year-old passenger in a black Mercedes had to be flown to hospital last week after a late-night car crash with a grey BMW, residents of the exclusive beachfront community want the authorities to crack down on the souped-up cars spoiling their peaceful haven.

"They really have got to do something about it now," Susie Price, who has lived in Sandbanks for the past nine years, said.

"They just use it as a race track. Just a few weeks ago I witnessed a girl collide into a lamppost at full speed coming onto the peninsula.
