Impaired driver arrested after police say she called them for assistance Christmas morning
A 37-year-old suspect from North Bay is facing several impaired driving-related offences following a strange incident early Christmas morning. On Dec.
25 shortly after 2 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police[1] (OPP) received a call for assistance from a person who was unsure of their location but advised their vehicle was stuck in the snow. "The driver of a vehicle which was located after a search by the North Bay detachment of the OPP," police said in a news release Friday.
"(She) was arrested on an un-named road in French Township." As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 37-year-old woman has been charged with impaired driving, failure or refusal to comply with a demand and with driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available. Additionally, the suspect's driver's licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released with a court appearance slated for Jan.
16 to answer the charges.
None of the allegations has been proven in court.
