Investigation underway after man shot in Dodworth

POLICE were called to Dodworth last night after a man was found with a gunshot wound. At around 10pm on Sunday, officers responded to reports that a man suffering with a gunshot wound was on Barnsley Road, Dodworth. Armed response officers were deployed to the area and the man, a 35-year-old, was taken to hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

An investigation has now been launched into the incident and the victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. A police spokesperson said: "If you have any information about this incident or can help officers with their enquiries, please call 101 quoting incident number 895 of December 10. "You can also pass information anonymously to Crimestoppers by call 0800 555 111."
