From the member of a notorious gang to the corrupt prison guard, these are the latest criminals to be sent to jail. Below is our list of law-breakers we covered in November who were sentenced to immediate imprisonment. The month featured tragic murder cases including a nightmare tenant who racked up debt for unpaid rent then stabbed the man who came to evict him.

Ahmad Al Sino

Ahmad Al Sino[9] stabbed his daughter’s father-in-law Mohammed Salem Ibrahim to death on the victim’s doorstep in Castle Vale. He also inflicted serious knife injuries to his son – and his own son-in-law – Aram Ibrahim in the same attack.

Al Sino went on the offensive after he had wrongly thought his daughter had been assaulted as she rowed with her husband inside their home. The the 43-year-old from Chatham Road, Northfield[10] was found guilty of murder, attempted murder and possession of a knife. He was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 26 years.

Dale Cunnah

Dale Cunnah carried out a spate of ten burglaries in Birmingham.

In one incident a 92-year-old pensioner woke up to find him lying on the floor next to him. Cunnah told him he was looking for things to sell in order to buy drugs. The 32-year-old from Winson Green also stole random parcels from flat blocks and broke into a nail bar and its neighbouring business in the Jewellery Quarter.

He admitted ten burglary offences and was sentenced to four years and six months.

Kamran Mahmood

Prolific burglar Kamran Mahmood[11] broke into a number of homes in Walsall[12]. In one incident he held a knife to a woman’s throat and forced her to a cashpoint. He went on a spree of robberies in the town threatening to hurt people into handing over money.

Mahmood, aged 21, formerly of Rough Hay, Darlaston, was convicted of burglary and robbery offences. He was sentenced to eight years.

Chad Henderson

Chad Henderson[13] stabbed security guard Nathan Burton to death when the victim came to his flat to evict him for failing to pay rent. The 46-year-old US national became involved in a bitter dispute with his landlord after racking up a debt for the property in Woodhurst Road, Moseley[14] where he lived.

Mr Burton and his colleagues were recruited to remove him on April 7 in 2021. The first time they arrived Henderson appeared to threaten them with a fake Molotov cocktail. Police attended and advised the security team to obtain a court order, but they decided to return later the same night.

They forced entry and found the stairs blocked by a sofa. As Mr Burton made his way up Henderson leaned over the banister and stabbed him four times in the chest. He was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life with a minimum term of 19 years.

Leon Brown

County lines drug dealer Leon Brown[15] supplied synthetic opioids more dangerous than heroin.

The 35-year-old from the Black Country was arrested in Evesham. Brown, of Baker Street, West Bromwich, was convicted of drug offences and breaching a suspended sentence. He was jailed for seven years and one month.

Fleury Tsaty

Fleury Tsaty[16] assaulted and robbed a female escort in Birmingham.

He stole thousands of pounds from the young victim and locked her out of her apartment. Tsaty let her back inside but then he and another man knocked her to the ground in an attack. The 28-year-old of New Heart Road, West Bromwich was found guilty of robbery and assault.

He was sentenced to four years, six months.

Marius Mihai

Drink driver Marius Mihai[17] caused the death of Richard Allen in a crash in Lichfield[18] just two days before Christmas[19] last year. The 33-year-old victim was due to get married on New Year’s Eve eight days later. Mihai was under the influence of alcohol, on a WhatsApp call and travelling at 110mph in his Volkswagen Passat before the collision with Mr Allen’s Ford Fiesta at the Wall Island roundabout.

Mihai, aged 36 and from Walsall, admitted causing death by dangerous driving and he was sentenced to nine years and eight months. He was also hit with a driving ban.

Nathaniel Miles-Webster, Emmanuel Freeman-Douglas, Reece Young and Jake Ford[20] were involved in the ‘Jay’ county lines drug network into Worcestershire. An address in Evesham was being ‘cuckooed’ by the gang, who were mainly from Birmingham.

A three-year investigation recovered more 1kg of cannabis, GBP1,000 worth of class A drugs and over GBP8,000 in cash. The four men were convicted of drug offences. Miles-Webster, aged 27 and of Heathside Drive, Kings Norton[21], was sentenced to seven years and four months.

Freeman-Douglas, 27 and of Shannon Road, Kings Norton[22], was given a total sentence of six years and seven months. Young, 22 and of Harvest Road, Rowley Regis[23], got three years and ten months. Jake Ford, 26, of Saffron House, Kings Norton, received a three-year sentence.

Patrick Tierney and Kerry Fanning[24] tried car-jacking two women in 15 minutes in Solihull but failed both times.

Tierney was physically violent to both victims while Fanning observed. In the second incident he threatened the victim’s father with a hammer. Earlier that day Tierney had stolen cigarettes and wine from a Co-op shop while acting alone.

And two weeks prior he had tried to take another car but was disturbed by the owner. He said: “All I needed was sixty quid. Sixty f***ing quid.

Look mate I’m sorry about your car. I don’t know what I’m doing.” Tierney, aged 25, from Handsworth admitted robbery, two counts of attempted robbery, attempted theft of a car, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and making threats with an offensive weapon.

He was jailed for six years, six months. Fanning, aged 33, from Moseley, pleaded guilty to two attempted robberies and received two years and three months.

Harvey William Griffiths

Harvey William Griffiths[25] was found with cocaine and heroin in his pants after he was spotted carrying out a drug deal in Leamington Spa. The 20-year-old had caught a bus from Birmingham to the town two days in row.

A mobile phone was seized from him which was constantly receiving calls. Griffiths admitted a drug dealing offence and was sentenced to four years and six months.

David Poulton

David Poulton crashed a stolen car into a vehicle and caused a five-year-old boy a bleed on the brain. The 41-year-old was fleeing police who noticed him at Dartmouth Circus behind the wheel of a Ford EcoSport taken from a Morrisons[26] car park in Coventry.

He ran red lights and veered onto the wrong side of the road in the 80mph pursuit before smashing into Volkswagen T-Cross. The family inside were on there way to Star City. Poulton, of no fixed address, admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving, disqualified driving, failing to stop for police, driving without insurance, handling stolen goods and failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis.

He was jailed for six years.

Darren Pervial, Alan Britton and Lee Kennedy

Darren Pervial, Alan Britton and Lee Kennedy[27] laundered drug money at a Wolverhampton safehouse found to contain nearly GBP3m when police raided it. The three men used encrypted mobile platform EncroChat which was shut down by detectives. The safehouse in Fallings Park contained packs of Scottish, Irish and Sterling currency as well as a cash-counting machine and boxes of cash.

The men were convicted of offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act. Percival, aged 47 and of Deans Road, Wolverhampton, was jailed for four years. Britton, 50, of no fixed address, received four years and nine months and Kennedy, 35, of Coleshaw Road, Manchester, was jailed for two years and seven months.

Martin Mills

Prison guard Martin Mills was at the centre of a plot to smuggle drugs and mobile phones into HMP Hewell in Worcestershire.

Family members of inmates made payments directly into his bank account so he would take in prohibited items to be sold on by serving criminals. He was stopped as he entered the jail near Redditch[28] and was found to be carrying drugs, mobiles phones and SIM cards in a box of cereal. Mills was one of nine people prosecuted as part of the case including serving prisoners.

The 34-year-old from Talbot Road, Bromsgrove[29] was convicted of conspiring to bring, throw and convey prohibited items into a prison and was sentenced to four years.

Nazakat Hussain

Nazakat Hussain sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl as she waited at a bus stop in Bordesley Green[30] with her sister. The victim immediately told the driver who alerted police. Hussain, aged 44, was found guilty of sexual assault and jailed for six months

Ryan Dimmock

Prolific shoplifter Ryan Dimmock[31] carried out a string of thefts in Smethwick[32].

The 27-year-old stole thousands of pounds worth of items in the space of two months. Dimmock, of no fixed address, admitted 21 charges of theft and was sentenced to 48 weeks.

Mai Van Nguyen

Mai Van Nguyen[33] was was part of an international criminal network that trafficked Vietnamese migrants into the UK in the back of lorries. The 34-year-old from Wolverhampton orchestrated plans for people to be taken to safehouses once they had been successfully smuggled into the country and brought to the West Midlands.

Some of the migrants ended up working in cannabis factories. Nguyen, of Jeremiah Road was jailed for five years and six months for smuggling offences.

Robert Osbourne

Robert Osbourne[34] sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl at a graveyard in Stourbridge[35]. He lured the victim away from her group of friends by asking if she would show him where the water tap was at St Mary’s Church in Old Swinford.

He then carried out the sexual attack, which the girl reported a few days later. Osbourne, aged 48, from Green Street, Stourbridge, admitted sexual assault of a female over the age of 13. He was sentenced to two years and 11 months.

He has previously been jailed for upskirting.

Aiden Foster

Aiden Foster, 22, from Wednesbury, made a series of child sexual abuse videos which were shared on social media site DiscordAiden Foster

Aiden Foster[36] posted videos of himself online of him raping and sexually assaulting a young boy. The 22-year-old from Wednesbury boasted about sharing a series of depraved videos on social media platform Discord. The National Crime Agency raided his home in Bassett Road and found hundreds of indecent images on his electronic equipment.

They also discovered he had requested ‘horny pics of a 14-year-old’ on Instagram. He admitted 24 child sex and indecent images offences and was sentenced to 11 years and seven months with an extended four-year licence period.

Darren Fletcher

Darren Fletcher[37] posted racist, anti-Semitic and offensive comments online. In doing so the 33-year-old breached his criminal anti-social behaviour order.

He had once been jailed for being a member of a neo-Nazi group. Fletcher, of Kitchen Lane, Wednesfield, admitted eight breaches of his order and was jailed for four years.

Harvey Peach

County lines drug supplier Harvey Peach[38] drove off from police through Sainsbury’s[39] car park in Redditch after he was spotted mid-deal. The 18-year-old ditched the vehicle which contained a large hunting knife and his mobile phone.

The device proved he was involved in running the ‘Emz’ line. Peach, of Upper Fields Close in Redditch, was found guilty of drug offences, possession of an offensive weapon and failing to stop. He was sentenced to two years, six months.

Matthew Hyde

Matthew Hyde[40] strangled his amputee girlfriend to death with a dog lead after she poked him with a walking stick.

The 41-year-old lost his temper after drinking ten cans of strong lager. He told wheelchair-bound Sara Bateman he would ‘stop her breathing for good’ moments before he throttled her at her home in Willenhall. Hyde then fled and left the mother-of-four’s lifeless body on the floor for her son to find two days later.

He was the victim’s registered carer and received benefits for looking after her. He claimed he lashed out at ‘bully’ Ms Bateman after she branded him ‘worthless’. Hyde, of Wellington Place, Walsall, admitted murder and was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 16 years.

Louis Clarke

Louis Clarke[41] was involved in the shooting of a 13-year-old boy which left him paralysed and wheelchair-bound.

He was with fellow Armed Response gang members ‘patrolling their territory’ in Hockley in a stolen Nissan X-Trail when they spotted the boy and his friends near the Hockley Circus Roundabout. The completely innocent victim, who had just been going to get some food, was chased through a subway and shot in the back by 17-year-old Tafique Thomas who used a home-made ‘slam gun’. Clarke, aged 19, from Sheldon, stayed with the Nissan to ensure it was ready for a quick getaway.

He was found guilty of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was sentenced to life with a minimum of 15 years and four months. Thomas and two others were jailed last year for their part in the shooting.

Muhammad Abdul Haleem Heyder Khan and Muhammad Hamzah Heyder Khan

Muhammad Abdul Haleem Heyder Khan[42], aged 21, and sibling Muhammad Hamzah Heyder Khan[43], 18 made plans to travel to Afghanistan to join Islamic State.

The brothers thought they were ‘two weeks away’ from training for battle but never made it out of the bedroom they shared in Ward End, Birmingham. They bought clothes, completed application forms and communicated with IS officials. Their phones contained a ‘wealth’ of extremist material.

Both claimed they were journalists carrying out research before they admitted engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorism. Haleem was jailed for ten years while Hamzah was sentenced to eight years. Both received extended four-year licence periods.

Tony Graham arranged the sales of guns and ammunition in Birmingham directing younger brother Simon Graham to act as his courier.

As part of the investigation police retrieved a loaded handgun converted from a blank-firing weapon. It had been dumped by Bailey McIlroy while he was with Tony Graham who had supplied him with it. Tony Graham, aged, 40, from Dudley[44], was jailed for eight years and one month earlier this year for firearms and ammunition offences.

Simon Graham, aged 39, from Rubery, was sentenced to five years, six months while McIlroy, aged 19, from Rednal, received three years.

Melania Urmuz

Professional pickpocket Melania Urmuz[45] targeted Birmingham shoppers at TK Maxx and the Bullring. During one 25 minute period she attempted to steal from eight people. She was arrested after returning to TK Maxx on a further date only to be recognised by staff.

The 52-year-old, of no fixed address, admitted 15 thefts and attempted thefts. She was jailed for 12 months.

Ismail Adewumi

School worker Ismail Adewumi[46] groomed and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy. The victim was not a pupil at Redstone Academy in Balsall Heath where the paedophile worked in administration.

The school reported him to the police when they became aware of a sick video of Adewumi on the toilet which he had sent to the boy. Their messages had escalated from PlayStation ‘banter’ to ‘troubling’ exchanges about phone sex. He sexually groped the boy during a two-hour ordeal when they were together one night.

The court was told Adewumi hit crisis point because his family was trying to find him a wife when he was secretly homosexual.

The 26-year-old from Sparkbrook was jailed for two years and eight months after admitting two counts of sexual activity with a boy and one count of sexual communication with a child.
