Jailed in Suffolk: The criminals put behind bars in November
David Dixon
%image(‘17405726’, type=”article-full”, alt=”Dixon was jailed at Ipswich Crown Court”) David Dixon, 37 and of Fonnereau Road in Ipswich, admitted two non-dwelling burglaries.[1] Ipswich Crown Court heard how a metal bar was used to force open the shutters of Andrews jewellers in the Buttermarket on August 9 and GBP50,000 worth of jewellery was stolen after a window was smashed.
On August 1, items worth GBP7,000 were stolen from the Kerala store in St John’s Road after the back door was forced open. GBP300 was seized from Dixon on his arrest and Judge David Wilson ordered that GBP150 should be paid to each of the victims before sentencing him to 24 months in jail.
Oskars Kantors

Kantors, 29 and of Old School Close in Leiston, stabbed the victim out of jealousy in Leiston in October last year.
He had previously denied one count of murder and an alternative charge of manslaughter, but admitted to a charge of two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm against two other victims. Kantors was given a life sentence[2] of which he will have to serve a minimum of 21 years and 9 months before he can be considered for early release by the parole board.
Leroy Lawless
%image(‘17503558’, type=”article-full”, alt=”Leroy Lawless was jailed at Ipswich Crown Court”) Described as a “prolific offender”, Leroy Lawless, 40 and of Albion Street in Saxmundham, pleaded guilty to burglary and other offences.
At about 9pm on September 22, Lawless entered a property on Middleton Road in Yoxford and used a ladder to enter an upstairs window to steal a number of items including a radio and an iPad. Officers arrested him on September 22 at a car park in Dartford after police spotted him driving a car which was believed to have been used in the burglary. During a search of the vehicle stolen items, a folding lock knife and two small bags of cannabis were found.
Lawless was sentenced to 33 months in prison.[3]
Nicholas Sparkes
%image(‘17503566’, type=”article-full”, alt=”Nicholas Sparkes was jailed for causing a fatal crash on the A12″)Police were called to a two-vehicle crash on the northbound carriageway at Marks Tey at about 4.40am on Saturday, September 3 last year. Marcin Zabicki died after his motorbike was hit by a Volkswagen Golf. Nicholas Sparkes, driver of the Golf, failed to stop at the scene of the crash but was stopped and arrested by officers.
Sparkes, 27 and of Bickling Close in Ipswich, was charged with causing death by careless driving while over the prescribed limit and dangerous driving. He was sentenced to five years and four months[4], as well as an additional six months imprisonment for dangerous driving following the collision which will run concurrently.
Kursten Dixon

According to Bury St Edmunds police, the offences totalled GBP2,000.
She was jailed for a total of 14 weeks, including four weeks for breaching a suspended sentence.
Samuel Ward

In May 2020, Ward approached her using two different Instagram accounts offering her a weekly fee of £500 for sending him sexual images and videos of her, which was never paid. The investigators identified Wards as the scammer behind the ‘sugar daddy’ accounts and discovered that he has approached a total of 40 females- eighteen of whom fell for the scam including four girls under the age of 18.
Ward, 27 and of Newmarket, pleaded guilty to 19 charges including making indecent images of children.
He was sentenced to 30 months in prison and given a five year sexual harm prevention order.
