Jarrell Miller has hit out at the all-English judging and refereeing line up that will officiate his fight against British fighter Daniel Dubois[3].
The pair will go head-to-head as part of the blockbuster ‘Day of Reckoning’ card on Saturday evening, with the American looking to improve on his unbeaten record against Dubois, who comes into the fight off the back of a controversial loss to[4] Oleksandr Usyk[5].
The fight will be judged by John Latham, Mark Lyson and Kevin Parker, all from England, with the bout set to be officiated by referee Michael Alexander, also of England.
And while backstage ahead of the fight, the American made his thoughts clear on the all-English officiating line up.
‘English promoter, English Fighter, English ref, English judges. Lmfao,’ Miller wrote on his Instagram story.
Jarrell Millere issued a strong outburst on Instagram against the English judges and referee who will oversee his fight against Daniel Dubois
He posted a screen shot of the officials for the fight on Instagram, captioning the story ‘Lmfao’
Miller currently boasts an unbeaten professional record having fought 26 times before, drawing once
He added, in reference to Dubois: ‘I’m going to kill this mofo, no decision.’
Miller and Dubois have been embroiled in plenty of controversy[6] during the build up to their fight.
They notably clashed during their stand-off on Friday, with the pair exchanging words before Miller appeared to push his opponent[7], causing tensions to bubble over on stage.
The 35-year-old has also been involved in a war of words with Anthony Joshua this week, hitting out at the British heavyweight, claiming ‘nobody cares about him[8].’
The American has been looking to rebuild his career after he was given a two-year doping ban back in 2020[9], after returning four positive drugs tests over a 12-month period.
Speaking exclusively to Mail Sport[10], Miller said that he was now ‘wiser’ folllowing the ban and his time away from the sport helped him realise what he wanted to achieve in his life.
He’ll take on British fighter Dubois, who comes into this bout having suffered a loss in his last outing against Oleksandr Usyk earlier this year
‘I was on a farm for a little while in Florida, just stayed away from people and kind of refigured out what I want to do in life,’ Miller said to Mail Sport’sCharlotte Daly.
‘You know trying to get my family back in order, I went through divorce and stuff like that. A lot of people in my corner I thought had my back, didn’t.’
He added: ‘I just kind of take a step back and look at it from a bigger picture.
‘I’m blessed in a way because I’m still healthy, I’m still young, smart, a little wiser now.
I know exactly where I need to go. I know exactly how to get there.
‘I already went through the tough routes. I took my licking, I took my beatings already.
Now [I need to] be smart about it and keep moving forward.’
