Kent County sheriff investigates fatal two-vehicle crash in Grattan Township

GRATTAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one woman dead and two others injured Saturday morning in Grattan Township. Authorities said that around 10:30 a.m., a 46-year-old Belding woman in a red Chevrolet Impala was driving westbound on 6 Mile Road NE when she ran a stop sign at Lincoln Road NE, subsequently crashing into a northbound Buick Enclave driven by a 54-year-old woman. The Belding woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to deputies.

The driver of the Buick and a 77-year-old passenger, also a woman, were taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

This incident remains under investigation by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
