Kibworth Beauchamp: Two people found dead inside property in East Midlands village

Police say two people have been found dead inside a property in a quiet East Midlands village. Officers were called to the home in Smeeton Road, Kibworth Beauchamp in Leicestershire, by East Midlands Ambulance Service[1] at 11.27am on Friday (December 15). Leicestershire Police[2] have issued a statement saying they have launched an investigation but they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Detective Inspector David Greenhalgh, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit major crime team, said: “Our investigation is very much ongoing as detectives are working to understand what happened and lead to the deaths of these two people. “I would like to reassure the wider public that at this time we do not believe anyone else was involved in the incident. Families of the two deceased are being supported by officers at this very difficult time.”

The property remains cordoned off as the investigation continues.

Kibworth Beauchamp, in the Harborough district, has a population of around 5,000 people.

It is close to Foxton Locks, Market Harborough and Leicester[3].
