Manchester is famous for its music but this week, it found itself in the spotlight after luxury French fashion house Chanel decided to host its annual Metiers d’Art show in the city Manchester has hosted some of the biggest names in showbiz as stars descended on the city for the annual Chanel Metiers d’Art fashion show. Over the past few months, there had been rumours that the likes of Timothee Chalamet, Kate Moss, the Kardashians and even Beyonce and Jay Z were jetting into the city for the star-studded event.

While this turned out to be online speculation, a string of A-listers made their way to the northern city and embraced the plunging temperatures. While the Northern Quarter is known for its small boutiques, restaurants and bars, Thomas Street was transformed into a catwalk for the major fashion house as models strutted down the catwalk, well, road. While some may have been left baffled by Chanel’s choice to choose Manchester over the likes of London, Paris and New York, the fashion giant said it’s “one of the most effervescent cities of pop culture and an avant-garde one, whose bands, spanning all genres, have revolutionized the history of music.”
