Lack of electricity in camper contributes to Forest City man’s death

FOREST CITY, N.C. (WLOS) — A Forest City man died of hypothermia Tuesday, Nov.

28, 2023. According to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office, Scott Wesley Mack, 58, of Island Ford Road, was found in a camper by an acquaintance who called EMS. Mack was transported to Spartanbourg Regional Medical Center.

Mack was in a cold environment without electricity and his body temperature was lower than normal, according to the coroner’s office.

Cause of death was determined to be cardiovascular disease exacerbated by hypothermia.
