The incident happened in the afternoon on Accrington Road and Rossendale Road (Image: Google Maps) Drivers have been told to avoid certain roads after a large fuel spillage in Burnley[1] today (Sunday, December 10). The incident happened in the afternoon on Accrington Road and Rossendale[2] Road, next to J9 M65 Westbound.

The road is closed and drivers have been told to avoid the area. A spokesperson for Burnley and Padiham police said: “Good afternoon all. “Please be aware that Accrington[3] Road, Burnley (next to J9 M65 Westbound) and part of Rossendale Road which connects to it is currently closed due to a large fuel spillage.

“Please avoid the area where possible.

“Many thanks.”
