Live: A1 crash leads to long delays near Peterborough

A crash led to long delays on the A1 heading towards Peterborough. It followed a collision at rush hour on Monday (December 4). Police were at the scene after the incident left the major route blocked.

Traffic information service Inrix reported queues heading southbound. No further details were given on the vehicle or vehicles involved or if anyone was injured. It said: “A1 Southbound blocked, queueing traffic due to accident between the South Witham turn off (South Witham) and the B6688 (Stretton / Greetham Turn Off, Stretton).

Congestion to Colsterworth Services.

The road is blocked following an incident first reported at around 17:39.”
