Live: Busy A-road shut after lorry crashes into bridge near Tiverton

The A396 Exeter Road was closed after a lorry crashed into a bridge this evening (December 20). There were delays in both directions near Bickleigh – located four miles south of Tiverton. According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the lorry has also had a blowout which is hindering the recovery of the vehicle.

The road reopened and traffic returned to normal shortly before 8.30pm. Inrix says: “A396 Exeter Road in both directions re-opened, traffic easing, accident cleared from Bickleigh Village Turnoff to A3072. The lorry has now been recovered.”
