Live: M4 closed by ‘serious crash’ in Wiltshire
A stretch of the M4 is closed following a ‘serious crash’ in Wiltshire this evening (December 9). Wiltshire Police say the motorway is likely to remain closed for the “foreseeable future”. The crash took place heading eastbound between junction 16 for Royal Wootton Bassett and junction 15 for Swindon.
Motorists are being urged to find alternative routes. Wiltshire Police said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) at 7.11pm: “Please be aware that the M4 between junction 16 for Royal Wootton Bassett and 15 for Swindon is currently closed eastbound following a serious collision. “The road is likely to remain closed for the foreseeable future.
