Live: M5 traffic stopped by rush hour crash near Bristol

Traffic was stopped on the M5[1] following a crash near Bristol this evening (December 18). According to traffic monitoring[2] site Inrix, the collision took place at Thornbury, in South Gloucestershire. There was stationary traffic heading northbound at junction 14 from around 5.15pm.

The motorway fully reopened and traffic returned to normal by 7pm. Inrix says: “Traffic easing, multi-vehicle accident cleared on M5 Northbound at J14 B4509 (Thornbury / Falfield). Lane one (of three) was closed.”
