Live M5 traffic updates: Motorway closed for ‘police-led incident’

A “police-led incident” on the M5 has forced a closure on the motorway. The incident is taking place between junctions 26 for Wellington and 25 for Taunton. National Highways says a road closure has been set up and Avon and Somerset Police are at the scene.

A diversion route has been set up. Traffic monitoring website Inrix had earlier posted there were “people on the road”. Its latest post says traffic was stopped at around 5.45pm.
