Live: Matlock Road two-car crash leads to delays between Matlock and Chesterfield

There are delays between Matlock and Chesterfield tonight (Thursday, December 7) after a crash involving two cars. Derbyshire Police said it happened at the junction of Slack Lane and Amber Lane in Kelstedge. No further details on the vehicles involved have been given and it is not known at this stage if anyone was injured.

However the A632 Matlock Road was closed in both directions following the incident at around 6.30pm. It led to slow traffic in the area, traffic information service Inrix said. Police urged drivers to avoid the area.

Inrix said in an initial update: “A632 Matlock Road in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident between the Wooley turn off and The Kestedge pub. The road is closed following an accident first reported at around 18:30. Affecting traffic between Matlock and Chesterfield.”
