Live traffic: M5, M4 and city centre tailbacks as Christmas shoppers head to Bristol

There are long delays on the M5 near Cribbs Causeway and huge tailbacks heading to Bristol city centre. The M5 southbound exit slip road has been partially blocked, causing delays. Traffic is queueing due to obstruction on the road at J17 A4018 (Cribbs Causeway).

The incident is not the only issue affecting Bristol[1]'s roads on Sunday, as there are delays on the M32 and Newfoundland Way Southbound, heading into the city centre. This weekend is set to be one of the busiest of the year as people dash to the stores to buy festive gifts. Traffic is crawling along the Horsefair.

There are also delays on Temple Way and Bond Street. Weather conditions are certainly not helping things as heavy rain and gusts of wind blow across the UK with the arrival of Storms Elin and Fergus. The poor weather has led to restrictions being put in place on the M48 Severn Bridge as people travel between Bristol and South Wales.
