Live updates as car overturns on M62 causing miles of traffic
Police have closed part of the M62 this morning after a van overturned. Three out of four lanes are closed on the motorway[1] between junction 11 for Birchwood and junction 12 for Eccles. The crash is causing delays on the motorway, with around three miles of tailbacks.
Police and paramedics are at the scene on the eastbound carriageway. North West Motorway Police posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “#M62[2] eastbound between J11 & J12 there are currently 3 lanes out of 4 closed due to an overturned vehicle. Ourselves and ambulance[3] are attending and lane 1 has a red X over it from J11 to allow emergency services access to the scene.”
