Lucky escape for driver after horror crash off M55

The incident happened overnight and Lancashire road traffic officers shared this image of the mangled wreckage at junction 2. The car was written off and the driver was reported for driving without due care and am expired MOT.

Elsewhere, officers said a trip to the illuminations did not go as planned for the driver of this car was intercepted en route.

The driver, who reportedly had no insurance or a licence and was wanted by Merseyside police, was arrested and the car was seized.
