M25 in Essex to be closed until morning after serious crash
The motorway has been blocked clockwise since the accident, which involved a car, at around 9.30pm. National Highways East tweeted to say that all emergency services were in attendance at the scene and that the closure is likely to be in place until tomorrow morning. The #M25[1] in #Essex[2] remains clockwise between J27 (#M11[3]) & J28 (#Brentwood[4]) due to a serious collision.
The road is expected to remain closed until 06:00 tomorrow morning. Traffic caught within the closure will be turned around from the rear of the queue. pic.twitter.com/B9j0EmNAQh[5]

The thread on X (formerly Twitter) added: “Traffic caught within the closure will be turned around from the rear of the queue.” Many have taken to X to say they are caught in the closure.
Rebecca Larkin wrote: “Yes, being stuck in traffic is tedious. But for those complaining about being stuck in the M25 closure, be grateful that you are safe in your car. For the road to be closed, that is clearly not the case for those involved!!”
National Highways East tweeted a link to a diversion route here[7].
