M4 drivers warned of delays as emergency repairs take place near Bristol
Motorists are warned of delays on the M4 this evening (December 9) as emergency repairs take place near Bristol. A stretch of the motorway is closed heading eastbound around the Almondsbury Interchange. National Highways confirmed that the repair work is taking place at junction 20.
Officials are working to repair potholes which have developed within the roadworks section between the junction’s slip roads. The eastbound carriageway was closed at around 3pm with a diversion route put in place. Drivers should head southbound on the M5 to junction 16 before rejoining the M4.
The closure is expected to remain in place throughout this evening.
Motorists have been advised to leave extra time for their journeys.
