M5 driver rushed to hospital after hitting central reservation
A driver was taken to hospital after crashing with the central reservation on the M5 this morning (December 13). Avon and Somerset Police[1] were called to the crash near junction 20 at around 8.10am. The northbound side of the motorway was closed as the car involved was moved to the hard shoulder. All lanes have since-reopened.
The driver of the vehicle was rushed to hospital, police have confirmed. Fortunately, the driver was not seriously injured in the collision.
Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called shortly before 8:10am this morning to a report that a car had collided with the central reservation near junction 20 of the M5.
“The driver of the vehicle has been taken to hospital, although it’s believed their injuries are not serious.
The northbound carriageway was closed to allow the car to be moved to the hard shoulder.”
