M6 live as road shut near Coventry due to police incident as multiple 999 crews attend

A police incident has shut the M6 near Coventry. The road has been shut southbound between J4A near Water Orton and J3 near Coventry. It is due to a Warwickshire Police-led incident.

Emergency services are in attendance. The traffic website Inrix says the incident has happened near Corley Services. The website said that as of 7.15pm there were delays to junction 5 (Castle Bromwich).

Traffic is being diverted via local routes, officials say. National Highways have warned: " If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey."

This is a breaking incident.
