Maidstone Town Centre hit by further traffic delays after car hits lamppost in Willington Street off A20

There were delays on a busy stretch of road this morning after a car crashed into a lamppost. Motorists faced tailbacks shortly before 10am following the incident off the A20 in Willington Street, Maidstone[1].

Police attended the scene near Beauworth Park. A spokesman for the force said: “Officers and paramedics attended the scene where no injuries were reported and arrangements were made to recover the vehicle.”

The crash comes just 24 hours after a collision between a lorry and car caused “absolute chaos”[2] for motorists in Maidstone town centre.

The A229 Bishops Way heading towards McDonald’s became blocked due to an accident near Maidstone Bridge yesterday morning – leaving some drivers to abandon their vehicles because of the delays.
