Major road closed after electric scooter rider seriously injured

Emergency services at the scene of the crash on Stanningley Road, Leeds (Image: Mike Simmonds/Newsquest) PART of a main road is currently closed after a serious collision this morning. Police were called to the incident on Stanningley Road, Leeds, shortly after 9am.

Officers said the rider of an electric scooter had been seriously injured in the crash.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: The eastbound carriageway of Stanningley Road remains shut at the junction with Henconner Lane. Drivers are being urged to avoid the area.

A West Yorkshire[1] Police spokesperson said: “A road closure is currently in place on Stanningley Road, Leeds, following a serious road traffic collision. “At 9.10am today, police were called to the incident where the rider of an electric scooter had been seriously injured.”

The incident has caused heavy congestion on nearby roads.

A police spokesperson said: “The eastbound carriageway of Stanningley Road is closed at the junction with Henconner Lane.

“Drivers are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.”
