Major road closed after ‘serious’ hit and run crash
Police closed a road after a "serious" crash in which a man was knocked off a bike. Officers[1] were called to reports of a crash involving a bike at Northway, Maghull[2], at around 6.55am on Wednesday, December 27. At the scene they found a cyclist had been knocked off their bike in a hit and run.
Roads Policing Unit[3] confirmed the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash failed to stop at the scene. Northway, between Dodds Lane to Kenyons Lane, is now closed while police carry out investigations.
A Roads Policing Unit[6] spokesperson said: "We are in attendance at a serious road traffic collision on Northway in Maghull.
The Northbound carriageway has been closed from Dodds Lane to the roundabout with Liverpool Road. Please consider using other routes if you need to travel through the area." They added: "A cyclist has been hit by a vehicle that failed to stop just prior to 0655hrs this morning.
