Man, 35, dies following Rhondda crash

A 35-year-old man has died following a collision in Rhondda Cynon Taf at the weekend. Matthew Theophilus, from Caerphilly[1], has died in hospital following injuries he sustained in the crash, South Wales Police[2] has said. The force is investigating the three-vehicle collision between a white BMW, a blue Vauxhall Zafira and a white Hyundai which happened at around 10pm on the A4058 at Trehafod on Sunday, December 3.

In a statement the force appealed for help with its investigation. A spokesman said: “Mr Theophilus’ family wish to be left alone to enable them to come to terms with their tragic loss. We wish to thank those members of the public who assisted at the scene.

“We want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have any dash-cam or CCTV footage of the incident or manner of driving prior to the collision.
