Man, 70, arrested after passenger on way to Leicester’s Haymarket Bus Station racially abused

A 70-year-old man has been arrested after a passenger was racially abused on a bus[1] into Leicester. Police said the incident happened on the number 26 First Leicester service at around 12.30pm, on Monday, December 4. Two passengers boarded the bus at Border Drive, close to the junction with Millwood Close, on its way to the Haymarket Bus Station in the city centre.

As they made their way to their way to their seats, one was racially abused by the other, said Leicestershire Police[2][3] The force said the 70-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence. He has since been released on bail, pending further inquiries,
