Man arrested after ‘truly unforgivable’ drink-driving crash with boy, 12, in car

A man has been arrested after a suspected drink-driving crash on the motorway. A car crashed on the M62,[1] at junction 6, near Tarbock Island according to North West Motorway Police[2]. An image posted by the force shows a badly damaged car , however, it is not believed anyone was hurt in the incident.

Officers said[3] the driver of the car blew 110 milligrams during a roadside breathalyser test which is more than three times the drink driving limit of 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of your breath. They also confirmed a 12-year-old child was in the car at the time of the crash.

North West Motorway Police[6] posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “This is the vehicle that crashed on M62 junction 6, driver blew 110 at roadside, driving with 12 year old child in vehicle, unforgiveable, male now in custody.”

X users branded the incident “shocking” with one user commenting: “It’s truly unforgivable.” Another added: “No excuse at all”.
