Man fighting for life after being struck by car on a busy Scots road
A PEDESTRAIN has been left fighting for life after he was struck by a car on a busy Scots road. Emergency services[1] raced to the North Street area of New Elgin yesterday evening.

Officers were called to the scene after receiving reports of the crash at around 8.05pm. Police[2] confirmed that a 55-year-old man was hit by a red Fiat[3] Punto.
He was rushed to Dr Gray’s Hospital[4] in Elgin before being transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. He remains in the hospital and medical staff have described the man’s condition as critical but stable.
The road was closed for over ten hours to allow collision investigators to conduct enquiries at the scene. Police re-opened the road at around 6.50am this morning.
Officers have added that enquiries into the incident are ongoing and they are appealing for anyone with information about the crash to come forward. They are urging anyone who may have seen something, or anyone who may know something, to speak with cops.

They are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area from the time of the crash. Sergeant Eoin Maxwell said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I’m appealing to anyone who may have seen anything that will help our investigation to contact us. “We are also keen to speak with any other motorists who may have possible dashcam footage from the area around the time in question.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3303 of 9 December.”
