Man ‘punched and threatened with knife’ in attempted robbery

A man was threatened with a knife and punched during an attempted robbery in East Yorkshire. Humberside Police[1] have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following the incident in Goole[2] between 10.30pm and 11pm on Sunday, December 17. It is reported the victim was walking along Boothferry Road when he was “punched and threatened with a knife” when approached by an unknown man.

The incident happened close to the underpass, and it is reported that the suspect fled empty-handed while the victim sustained what are thought to be minor injuries. The suspect is described as around 6ft 1 inch tall and was wearing all-black clothing with a black puffer jacket and a face covering. Humberside Police are appealing to anyone who has any information or has CCTV or dashcam footage that may be able to assist with enquiries to contact them on the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 23*178345.
