Man rescued from SUV after crashing into West Side bakery

SAN ANTONIO – Firefighters had to cut the roof off an SUV to rescue a man after he crashed into a West Side business. The accident took place just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at Letty Cakes Bakery along Fredericksburg Road near West Kings Highway.

Police said the man was speeding when he lost control and crashed into a utility pole and into Letty Cakes.

Crews used the Jaw of Life to help get the man out of the vehicle.

He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
