Masked men steal jewellery in incident at shop in Bridlington

Jewellery was stolen from a shop in Bridlington during a raid by three masked men. One man was arrested after officers were called to reports of a robbery in progress at a shop on Prospect Street at around 2pm this afternoon (Friday 8 December). It is reported that three men wearing masks and carrying weapons gained entry to the front of the shop by causing damage to the windows and subsequently stole jewellery.

They are then believed to have fled the scene in a red Fiesta. Following swift action by Humberside Police[1] officers, the red Fiesta was discovered abandoned nearby and one man was located on Horsforth Avenue. He has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest further suspects, and local residents can expect to see an increased presence around the area to allow officers to conduct multiple lines of enquiry.

“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or may have video footage from around the time the incident occurred, to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 242 of 8 December.”
