Miracle couple both survive separate plane crashes miles apart

A couple survived two separate plane crashes[1] which happened on the same day 25 miles apart, with one walking away unscathed while the other had a slight limp Stefano Pirilli, 30, and his fiance Antonietta Demasi, 22, had decided to take two light aircrafts to travel for a lunch with friends near Turin, Italy[2], on Sunday. On their way back both ran into trouble as the sun set, leaving them in darkness and a sudden mist.

Amid the confusion, both planes crashed as they came into land - but incredibly neither party suffered serious injuries as Stefano was fine and Antoniette an injury to her pelvis. Stefano, who was flying a two-seater plane, told MailOnline[3] : "This was Antonietta's first flying experience and I'm so sorry for what happened. The day had started so beautifully, and it ended up with us both crashing in separate planes.

"We fell foul of the weather[4] and the time - the mist started to come up as the temperature dropped and then all of a sudden it was night. We decided to try and land at Busano and I called Antonietta and told her and the pilot of her plane said he would land at the airfield near San Gillio. "As we headed to the airstrip we were just enveloped in mist and darkness, and we knew there were electricity cables around but before we knew it we had crashed onto the ground and into a meadow."

After the crashes, firefighters rushed to both scenes and cut them free.

Each of the partners, as well as their pilots, Paolo Rotondo and Nicola Fiscarelli, were taken to hospital to be checked over. Earlier this year a man who survived a plane crash when he was eight and lost most of his family spoke of his agony when he was involved in another after rebuilding his life. Austin Hatch defied the odds when he survived the first tragedy when he was eight in 2003 which killed the lives of Austin's mum, brother and sister.

He and his dad survived and rebuilt their lives as his father met and married another woman. However, they were both killed in another flight accident in 2011 which left budding basketball star Austin severely injured.

He said last year: "I don't remember much detail about it. I had a really bad brain injury and lost a lot of my memory from that time.

We were flying to North Michigan this time and the aeroplane crashed.

My dad and second mum were killed on impact, and I survived again by the grace of God."
