Moment iconic Flying Scotsman chugged through Cambridgeshire in rare visit

The Flying Scotsman gave trainspotters a treat this week as it passed through several Cambridgeshire stations Crowds gathered this week in Cambridgeshire to see a world famous locomotive pass through the county. The Flying Scotsman departed from Cambridge on Wednesday morning (December 13) and travelled through Ely, Manea, March, Whittlesey and Peterborough.

The locomotive is marking its 100th year with a visit to Worcester as part of a Christmas service. Its final stop will be to Shildon, in County Durham where it will be displayed until January 7 at Locomotion. Train spotters and those wanting to catch a glimpse of the iconic locomotive waited at stops along its route early on Wednesday.
