Motorist in hospital as police, paramedics and firefighters called to A50 smash
A motorist was taken to hospital after police, paramedics and firefighters were called out to a crash on the A50[1]. Emergency services were scrambled to the scene – between Fenton[2] and Longton[3] – at 12.25pm on December 24 where they found ‘a car had come off the road’. Firefighters were needed to help get the driver out before the man was then taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital[4]. West Midlands Ambulance Service[5] sent two ambulances and a paramedic officer to the scene.
A spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found one car had come off the road and the driver, a man, was removed from the vehicle with the assistance of fire colleagues. Ambulance staff provided treatment for injuries not believed to be serious and conveyed him to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.” We have contacted both Staffordshire Police[6] and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service[7] for statements on the collision.
