Gardai and emergency services are at the scene of multi-car collision that has caused material damage to a number of vehicles on the M50 in Dublin.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland’s (TII) Motorway Operations Control Centre has warned commuters of a collision on the M50 J06 Blanchardstown southbound slip to N3 North.

The control centre said the incident has been cleared but the hard shoulder is still affected while gardai and emergency services are on site.

They have asked motorists to drive with care and to “expect delays.”

A garda spokeswoman said: “Gardai are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision at Junction 6 Southbound on the M50.”

Material damage has been caused to a number of vehicles that were involved in the pile-up.

It is understood that no injuries have been reported in connection with the multi-car collision at this time, gardai said.

“Enquiries are ongoing,” a garda spokeswoman added.
