‘Multiple Victims’ After Active Shooter Incident on UNLV Campus, Suspect Dead: Police
The Las Vegas school posted about a "confirmed active shooter"
Las Vegas police responded to an active shooter on the campus of UNLV Wednesday afternoon, the city's police department said in a post on X[1]. "There appears to be multiple victims at this time," the department said in a post shortly after noon. "Please avoid the area and we will have more information soon."
In a post[2] about 30 minutes later, the department said, "The suspect has been located and is deceased." Authorities have not specified how many people were possibly injured or if anyone has died. The school's official account on X also posted an alert, urging anyone on campus to evacuate to a safe area, saying there was a report of a shooting at Beam Hall, and followed it up with another post saying there were reports of additional shots fired in the Student Union.
A post by the school said police were responding to a "confirmed active shooter." This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
