Newmarket crash that shut road for 10 hours left ambulance driver and passenger seriously injured

An ambulance driver and passenger were seriously injured following a crash near the Cambridgeshire[1] border. Emergency services were called to the B1506 Moulton Road between Kentford and Newmarket[2] at around 7.30pm on Tuesday, December 19. The crash also involved a blue VW Golf with just the driver inside.

The road was closed until shortly before 5.30am on Wednesday morning. A Suffolk[3] Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to a two vehicle road traffic collision that took place at Newmarket. It occurred at about 7.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 19 December at about 7.30pm on B1506 Moulton Road between Kentford and Newmarket.

Two people in the ambulance, the driver, a woman, and a male passenger, sustained serious injuries and were taken to Addenbrooke’s hospital for treatment.
