Pedestrian, 84, suffers serious injuries in Ruby Road crash
He was injured by a black Mercedes Sprinter van on Ruby Road just after 10.15am on Saturday. The pedestrian was rushed to Southampton[1] General Hospital where he remains. He is being treated for serious injuries including broken bones.
Police say his condition is stable. A 66-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving and driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit. He has been released without charge but remains under investigation.
