Pedestrian seriously injured in Spring Bank crash

A pedestrian has been left ‘seriously injured’ following a crash on the corner of Spring Bank and Park Street. It is believed that a car collided with the pedestrian while turning left onto Park Street at around 11.35am on Thursday. Officers from Humberside Police arrived at the scene shortly after and closed the junction.

The patient was reportedly still laid in the road an hour after the crash, but some witnesses have suggested it was around two hours in total. Police officers wrapped the injured pedestrian in a foil blanket while they waited for an ambulance to arrive and the road was reopened shortly before 2.30pm. A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Officers were in attendance on Spring Bank in Hull, near to the junction with Park Street, following reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian at around 11.35am yesterday morning (Thursday 14 December).

“One person was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries which are not thought to be life threatening at this time. The road was closed to allow emergency services to work safely and was reopened shortly before 2.30pm.”
