Pedestrian taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after being struck by car in Alford Place

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car in Aberdeen city centre. The incident occurred shortly after 2am on Saturday in the Alford Place area and involved a silver Toyota Corolla. Emergency services attended the scene and the 39-year-old male pedestrian was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The driver of the car was not injured. The road was closed while enquiries took place and re-opened around 11am on Saturday. Sergeant Iain Nicolson said: "Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time or who witnessed the crash to contact us.

"In particular, if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation, please get in touch."
